Narges Wall Light

A paper lantern hung from an ash wood bracket, with a fabric cable and a toggle switch, so it plugs into a socket and needs no wiring.

The bracket is solid ash, screwed flat to the wall, with the lantern hanging free from a short cord in front of it. The paper body is ribbed, so it puts out an even wash rather than a beam, which is what makes it usable beside a bed. Because the cable runs down the wall to a plug, this can go up in a rented flat or on a wall with no existing supply. The look is quietly Scandinavian in style. The toggle switch sits on the cable within reach of the pillow.

Where it works: as a bedside light, in a reading corner, or on any bedroom wall with no wiring behind it.

The cable is visible by design. If you want it hidden you will need trunking, because there is no in-wall version of this fitting.
