Marjan Wall Light

A dimpled champagne glass globe on a short brushed brass arm, small enough to sit beside a bed without taking the whole wall over.

The glass is moulded with soft vertical dimples that break the light into ripples across the wall behind it, and it carries a warm champagne tint, so even a cool white lamp comes out amber through it. The globe is open at the bottom, which puts a little more light onto the surface below than a closed shade would. The arm and the round backplate are brushed brass, warm and satin rather than mirror bright, and the whole fitting is light. It stays close to the wall and clears a bedside table without leaning into the room.

Where it works: beside a bed in pairs, along a hallway, or in a living room next to a chimney breast.
