Description

A wide shallow cream dome balanced on a rounded rectangular base, both finished in the same fine matt texture.

Both halves are iron, powder coated in a soft warm cream with a fine sandy grain that takes side light and reads as plaster rather than metal. The dome overhangs the base on every side and sits on a short collar, so there is a clear shadow gap between the two parts and a band of light escapes sideways as well as down. The base is rounded at the top and flat at the sides, closer to a squat block than a cylinder, which is why the lamp looks different from every angle. Nothing is glossy and no hardware is on show.

Where it works: a bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room shelf where a low sculptural shape is wanted more than a bright reading light.
