Simin Pendant Light

A small clear glass cone on a rigid solid brass rod, with the lamp visible inside the shade and nothing else to the design at all.

The shade is a simple cone of clear glass, wider at the rim than at the collar, and it lifts off the fitting for cleaning without tools. Because the glass is clear rather than opal, everything inside it is on show, so the light is direct and the lamp becomes part of the look. The stem is a solid brass rod in a burnished finish, which sets the drop at a fixed height and keeps the pendant from swinging, and it is the same metal all the way through rather than plated steel.

Where it works: in a row along a kitchen island, over a bedside table, or above a narrow console.
