Gollaleh Wall Light

A rectangular slab of frosted glass with a heavy swirl running through it, hung from a curved brushed brass arm off a plain round backplate.

The slab is thick and frosted rather than clear, so the lamp behind it never shows as a point and the whole panel lights up as one soft rectangle with the swirl pattern reading as darker and lighter bands across it. The pattern is worked into each piece separately, which is why the marbling in the photograph belongs to that particular slab. The arm is a single curved brass rod in a brushed finish, hooked over the top edge of the glass and fixed with a small stud, so the panel appears to hang rather than be clamped.

Where it works: along a hallway, on a landing wall, or in a bedroom beside the bed where the glow needs to be soft and the fitting shallow.
