Langarud Semi Flush Ceiling Light

Six bare bulbs radiate from a crossed black rod frame with brass-finished sockets, a semi-flush fixture that reads as a mid-century sputnik even before the bulbs are lit.

Two straight rods cross at a round black canopy, each ending in a brass-finished socket that holds its bulb fully exposed, so the fixture itself becomes the light source rather than hiding it behind a shade. The short suspension keeps it close to the ceiling, and an adjustable hanging rod lets you fine-tune the drop for a lower room. It takes six bulbs, and the bare-bulb look particularly suits a vintage-style filament lamp rather than a plain LED.

Where it works: a kitchen with a lower ceiling, a dining area, or anywhere a semi-flush fitting is needed instead of a hanging pendant.
