A flat disc of natural cord wound in radiating spokes from a central wooden hub, sitting against the wall like a woven sun.
The cord runs from a small central hub out to a bound outer rim, hundreds of fine spokes side by side, so the whole disc glows evenly when the lamp behind it is on and reads as a textile panel when it is off. The lamp sits in the recessed centre and throws a bright core outward through the weave, which is what gives the piece its halo. Behind it is an iron frame that takes the fixings and holds the disc a little proud of the wall. It is large enough to work as the only decoration on a wall. The shade is a full round disc, flat to the wall.
Where it works: a living room wall, a bedroom above a chest, or a reading corner where a large soft glow beats a directional lamp.
