A tall tapered column wrapped in natural fabric, carrying a two tier drum shade in the same cloth and reading as a piece of furniture rather than a small lamp.

The base is the unusual part. Rather than a stem, it is a solid cone tapering from a wide floor plate up to the shade, covered in the same fabric as the shade so the whole lamp reads as one continuous piece of cloth rather than a shade sitting on a stand. The shade itself is built in two tiers, a deeper drum above a shallow flared one below, which breaks the light twice on its way out and gives a softer edge to the pool than a single drum manages. The fabric has a fine natural weave with a subtle texture, warm in tone, and it diffuses rather than blocks, so the whole column glows faintly when the lamp is on. It is a genuinely tall, statement-scale floor lamp that needs real floor space and two hands to move.

Where it works: a living room corner, a bedroom beside a chair, or a reading corner where its bulk reads as furniture rather than as a lamp.
