A polished brass cone hangs from a counterweighted pulley, so the drop height over a kitchen island can be raised or lowered by hand rather than fixed at installation.

The cone shade is spun brass with a bright polished finish, small enough to focus light downward onto a worktop rather than spread it around a room. What makes the fixture worth the higher price is the pulley: a second ceiling plate holds a sliding counterweight on a black cable, so pulling the shade down or letting it rise resets the drop height without rewiring anything. It reads as a considered, slightly industrial detail against an otherwise simple cone pendant.

Where it works: over a kitchen island where the drop height needs to change, or over a dining table for the same reason.
