Sangriz Pendant Light

A wide, flat disc of tightly wound natural fibre hangs level from the ceiling, its woven surface breaking the light into soft radiating patterns rather than a single glow.

The diffuser is built from fine rattan-like strands wound tightly around a frame into a lens-like disc, wider than it is deep, so it sits low and horizontal rather than dropping down like a typical dome shade. Lit, the gaps between the wound strands let soft light escape in a radial pattern across the ceiling and walls; unlit, the natural fibre reads as a piece of woven craft in its own right. Where it works: over a dining table, above a kitchen island, or in a living room as a textural centrepiece.
