Asadi Pendant Light

A brass ring set with rectangular alabaster tiles around its outer edge, hung level on fine wires as a lit halo over a table. This is the middle of the three ring sizes.

The construction is the same across all three sizes and the effect changes with the diameter. Small upright tiles of alabaster sit around the outside face of a shallow brass band, each one glowing on its own with a dark seam between it and the next, so the ring reads as a dotted line of light rather than a solid one. The inner face is plain brass and bounces some light back down onto the table. At this size it needs a table with real length under it and a ceiling with height to carry it.

Where it works: over a long dining table, in a living room with real ceiling height, or in a hallway with a double height void.
