A glossy green enamelled dome with a twin hemisphere hung inside it as a second, smaller shade, so the lamp is hidden and the light comes out around the gap between them.

The outer shade is a clean half sphere in enamelled metal, high gloss and hard edged, cast in a rich green, and the inner hemisphere hangs below the lamp and blocks any direct downward view of it. What escapes is a ring of light around the rim and a soft bounce off the white interior, which is why this is comfortable to sit under despite having no diffuser in it. The enamel is thick and even, and the matching fabric cord is finished in the same green as the shade so the whole drop reads as one piece.

Where it works: in a row over a kitchen island, above a bedroom bedside table, or over a dining table where the colour is meant to be seen.
