Shonbeh Wall Light

A clear amber tinted glass globe held at the top of a slim brushed brass stem that continues well below the wall plate, so the fitting reads as a line rather than a lamp on a wall.

The stem is a plain round section in brushed brass, tapering to a point at the bottom and passing straight through a small round backplate, which is what gives the piece its length and keeps it looking like a drawn line. At the top, a turned collar holds a globe that is transparent and lightly amber tinted, and because the glass lets the lamp show through, the light itself stays part of the look. The finish is brushed rather than polished, so it does not throw reflections back into a room, and it keeps a warm gold cast rather than a mirror shine. The whole fitting is narrow, which is why it works in a space too tight for anything with an arm.

Where it works: in a bedroom either side of a bed at bedside height, along a narrow hallway, or beside a mirror where a slim vertical fitting fits and a wide one does not.

What comes in the box is listed on every product page under What is included. Most fittings arrive without a bulb so you can choose the brightness and warmth yourself. Some carry an integrated LED instead, and a few items are a shade or a bulb on their own.
