A 60cm flattened ellipse of ivory fabric, twisted once along its length, hung dead level from two fine black cables.

The shade is a single continuous surface stretched over a frame, so the light comes through it rather than out of it and the whole plane glows softly at low intensity. The twist is what makes it sculptural, giving it a different silhouette from every angle: one end presents its face to the room, the other its edge, so the piece changes as you move past it. At 60cm along its length, it is the larger of the two sizes offered, suited to a longer table. Suspension is a single black cord splitting into two supports, which keeps it level over a table. Nothing about the lamp holder is documented.

Where it works: low over a long dining table, or in a living room where a wide horizontal form suits the wall behind it.
