A tall travertine cylinder with a dark wood cap, hung on a brown flex, casting a tight warm pool of light through the open base.

The stone is pale and openly pitted, textured across the whole face, with fine horizontal banding running round the shade and small natural voids in the face, so each one comes out slightly different. It is solid through, so nothing glows through the wall of the shade and all the light leaves through the open bottom. The cap is a dark reddish wood that picks up the brown fabric flex, and the contrast between the two is the whole design. This tall, narrow cylinder shape reads as a slim column of stone.

Where it works: at a bedside, in a pair in the bedroom, or hung low over a dining table where the pool of light lands on the table rather than the room.
