Zarafshan Wall Light

A flat dish of white opal glass with ribs radiating out from a brushed brass centre boss to a scalloped rim, sitting tight against the wall.

The glass is pressed rather than blown, so the ribs run in even lines from the middle out to the edge and finish in a wavy scalloped rim that catches light along every crest. The white finish diffuses evenly rather than glowing warm the way a tinted glass does, and because the ribbing refracts the light in a hundred small directions the whole disc lights up rather than showing a bright spot at the centre. A small brushed brass boss caps the middle and holds the glass to its backplate. It sits flush to the wall with almost no projection, which is why it survives a hallway where anything that stands proud gets knocked.

Where it works: a living room wall in a pair, along a hallway where projection has to stay tight, or in a bedroom as an even white glow.

What comes in the box is listed on every product page under What is included. Most fittings arrive without a bulb so you can choose the brightness and warmth yourself. Some carry an integrated LED instead, and a few items are a shade or a bulb on their own.
