Chekneh Pendant Light

A single length of knotted timber with an LED channel cut into its underside, so the light comes from inside the wood rather than from a fitting bolted to it.

The log keeps its natural taper and its bark scarred surface, dark and reddish where it has been oiled, and the grain twists along its length so no two pieces will read the same. The LED sits in a routed channel on the underside behind a diffuser, which means the diode line is hidden from anyone standing at the counter and only the warm wash below is visible. It hangs on two fine black cables from a small ceiling plate, and the weight of the timber keeps it hanging dead level. Unlit it is a piece of driftwood on a wire, which is the whole point, and it is why it works in a room with plaster and stone rather than gloss.

Where it works: over a kitchen island, along a dining table, or above a long console in a hallway with the ceiling height to carry it.

What comes in the box is listed on every product page under What is included. Most fittings arrive without a bulb so you can choose the brightness and warmth yourself. Some carry an integrated LED instead, and a few items are a shade or a bulb on their own.

If you need conformity documentation for a particular fitting, ask before you order and we will request it from the supplier. We do not make a blanket compliance claim across the range, because the paperwork varies by item.
